Heart broken........!

As i had mentioned in my previous post , last weekend was the IPL super weekend, but it wasn't super to me by any means. I had canceled all plans to watch the Superkings play , but it was such a worst experience. It was Saturday , i was all set and ready to watch the semi final match against Royal Challengers. Even though Kumble's team was on a winning streak , i knew the match was in chennai's hands. There was no way the bangalore royal challengers could defeat the superkings unless the superkings played poorly. But that is exactly what CSK did. I along with my frnds had a gone to a place nearby whr they showed the matches on 70mm screen and the atmosphere there was electric. I just loved that place , but what good is all that when ur team plays poor cricket and loses so badly. Dhoni played so poorly and his team selection was even worse. I just couldn't get out of the disappointment for 3 full days. I just kept swearing at dhoni and gony with all those bad words i know for the 3 days. It was so heart breaking and i couldn't get out this sombre mood.

Then yesterday nite , it was the mother of all football matches , Barca vs Man U in d champions league final. 2 great champions facing off in the ultimate battle, and this match got my spirits going , both teams were in stupendous form and this match was titled as the clash of the titans. I decided to watch this match at sasi's house so that i could have company while watching . We both were avid Man U fans and we were so eager for the match to start. But there was a small problem , sasi's dish tv had developed a glitch and it wasn't able to broadcast a select few channels and fate it was , that Ten Sports was among them. With all the build up to this match , we desperately didn't want to miss it and so we called up tushar and asked him to bring his set top box . And he came at midnite , and the match started at 12:15 IST. We were all all so glued to the TV for the next 2 hours. Man U , just like what superkings did 3 days before played poorly. Except for the first 10 mins , they just weren't on the field. It was Barcelona all the way , they were a class apart sterday nite and Messi proved he is indeed the best player in the world. Man U lost 2 - 0 , it wud have been much worse if not for Van Der Saar. Man U were truly humbled by the brilliant Barca , Sir Alex could do nothing but watch his team lose. It was another heart breaking nite for me , lightning had struck twice in 4 days and it destroyed all the spirits that i had before the match.

2 great teams , 2 poor performances and one broken heart. That sums up my mood this week :(

The IPL Super Weekend

This week , its d super weekend in d IPL , the last leg. We are down to the final four teams , and My Csk have made albeit some poor performances. Before the IPL started i always wondered why are those europeans so mad abt their football clubs , but nw i understand everybit of their emotions.If its soccer in Europe , its cricket in India. I'm as mad as them for my club Chennai SuperKings , I never miss an opportunity to see them play. It was sad that ipl moved to SA tis year , and that i cudn't watch matches at Chepauk but the SA pitches have brought more equality among the teams. Who on earth wud have placed their bets on deccan and royal challengers making the semis this year , but here they are challenging the might of Chennai and Delhi. Every Chennai Superkings fan hopes csk go one better this year compared to last year , and i too have the gut feeling that Dhoni's men will indeed lift the trophy this time around. So i've cancelled all plans for the weekend and gonna watch the Superkings to the title hopefully.........! Jai Ho SuperKings.........!

Red Hills Drama..........!

Its been almost a dozen months since my last post , been a busy lot so never got time to pen down my thoughts. Finally , have decided to start blogging again. This sunday i had this another freaking cricket story. My team had entered a tournament in Thirumulaivayal(avadi) and we went there early sunday morning for our first match. I had taken my car so that we could avoid the sun while travelling , cos this place was some 10 kms frm anna nagar. We finished the match around 9 30 and started back home. On our way back home , we reached ambattur and there was this triangular one way junction ( similar to the one near saidapet - little mount junction ) where i had to make a left , travel a certain distance and then take a right and come back to previous junction. But thanks kabaddi karthi , it ended as one bad way back home. just as i was about to take the right , karthi told " dai go straight da , don't take the right wrongly" and as i was on the phone talkin to rakshit , i too thought i had to go straight. And so we went on , but aftr 20 mins , we realised that it wasn't the same road that we came in d mornin and then there was the shock, we went under a by-pass road bridge , aahhh , that is when we realised our mistake. This by-pass road was a link to Kolkata highway and instead of moving towards anna nagar , we were moving towards red hills. We stopped the car , thrashed this karthi fellow like hell and then started again. We couldn't turn back for we had driven for such a long time from ambattur . Our only option was to proceed to red hills and then turn right and head back to chennai , yes chennai. Thanks to this fellow karthi , we all got to saw red hills lake , velammal engineering college and many more stupid places. And finally after 2 hours driving, we reached home . A 15 min journey had turned into a 2 hour one, thanks to a idiotic fella and my stupid idea of talkin on d phone while drivin...........!
